10 of the Best Birthday Restaurants

There are generally two kinds of birthday people, the ones who embrace their day and those who prefer to let the event slide by unannounced.  For those of us who enjoy a celebration, finding the right birthday restaurant is crucial. This post has ten of my favourite suggestions, all offering slightly different takes on a birthday restaurant. Including options for those who prefer a more low key birthday restaurant celebration 😉 Let me know what you think!

A Birthday Restaurant with a View – Artemis

I picked Artemis for my birthday lunch restaurant this year. My Melbourne bestie was in town and it was the perfect location to a) celebrate and b) enjoy one of Singapore’s best views. The view was so good in fact that we followed lunch with two espresso martinis each!! Whoops!
CapitaGreen Rooftop
138 Market Street, Singapore
Open Monday to Friday 11.30am to late and Saturday 6pm to late

A Partying Birthday Restaurant – Kilo

For a big celebration birthday restaurant Kilo ticks all the boxes. The space is cool (literally, since they’ve moved floors and have air-con), the food is fabulous and the vibe is funky without being too overdone. You can book the whole space at Kilo, they fit a max of around 50 people, less if you’re seated. We celebrated Moo’s big birthday here recently and I couldn’t fault the evening. We were able to organise our own DJ, fun entertainment from Ubersnap and the food was nothing less than spectacular. Service was also great, I was never without a drink, probably would have been better if I was though 😉
Kilo at Kallang
66 Kampong Bugis, Singapore

Open Monday to Saturday 6pm to 12am

A French Birthday Restaurant – Le Bistrot du Sommelier

My recent birthday was reason to celebrate at Le Bistrot du Sommelier. Whilst it’s not a typically romantic location, Le Bistrot is suited to couples and groups alike. The vibe is warm and reminiscent of a French village restaurant in Normandy or Brittany. Service is very good and the traditional menu is executed with aplomb. You can read more here.

Rillette Bar open from Monday to Saturday 12pm to 12am

A Birthday Brunch Restaurant – The Knolls at Capella

My choice for a birthday brunch is The Knolls at Capella. This brunch is a more intimate setting than, say, Mezza9 but what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality. The roving band, the excellent quality food and personalised service from the Chef all make The Knolls a perfect birthday brunch. You can read more here.

A Romantic Birthday Restaurant – Restaurant Andre

If you missed my post last week you can check it out here. An incomparable food experience. Whilst André isn’t for everyone, you might just be tempted if you read this post.
Restaurant André

Open for lunch Wednesday and Friday only – $198++ per head (not including wine pairing)
Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday – $350++ per head (not including wine pairing)

A Classic Birthday Restaurant – Luke’s

In a recent interview for Foodpanda I was asked to choose a restaurant in Singapore for my last meal. I chose Luke’s. I know it’s not cool. I know it’s not new. But it is consistently good and I always feel happy when I leave. You can read more here.
Luke’s Oyster Bar and Chop House

A Birthday Restaurant for Seafood Lovers – The Naked Finn

For pescatarians, or simply for lovers of seafood, The Naked Finn is a must visit restaurant in Singapore. The Naked Finn is a rare and genuine gem. Helmed by Ken Loon, who is simply besotted with seafood, the quality of seafood here is probably impossible to beat in Singapore. Prices are unbelievably reasonable and the new setting (up the road from the previous location) is roomier and more suitable for any sized group. It’s worth also mentioning the service, on our last visit the menu knowledge of service staff was truly outstanding. You can read more here.
The Naked Finn
39 Malan Road, Gillman Barracks, Singapore

Open for lunch Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 3pm

An Italian Birthday Restaurant – Angeleno

Angeleno is just scraping into this list because want to go back there, but I’d struggle to justify a visit for anything less than a birthday. Angeleno falls under the same umbrella as Luke’s above, everything is perfectly done, service is excellent and food is what I’d call more American style Italian, but it’s pretty expensive. You can read a full review here.
20 Gemmill Lane, Singapore
phone +65 6221 6986 for reservations (recommended)
Open Monday to Saturday 12pm to 11pm

A Birthday Restaurant for a Rowdy Group – Oxwell & Co

Club Street is generally a good location for people who like a bit of a party. So for those into celebrating their birthdays with a bang, look no further than Oxwell’s. The dining room upstairs is a great room for a group of friends, I’ve had dinners here with groups of four up to 10 or 12 and it’s great for either. On our last visit (for another of Moo’s celebrations 😉 ) the service was particularly good. You can red more here.
Oxwell & Co
5 Ann Siang Road, Singapore

A Small Group Birthday Restaurant – Cure

I’ve been meaning to get back to Andrew Walsh’s Cure for a while now. Friends recently went as a foursome to celebrate their dual anniversary and all walked away with glowing reviews. If you happen to be having a more intimate birthday celebration with just a few friends, Cure is a great option. The food is first class and you won’t walk out feeling fleeced. You can read more here.
